Project description

The Center Mnemosyne has established cooperation at the project MUSA NetWork, initiated by EUROCENTRО from Brussels and realized by Italian experts from region Marche in cooperation with the province Ascoli Piceno and museum societies from the regions Macerata, Ancona and Pesaro and Urbino (2003-2005/2006). The goal of this project was to promote setting a permanent network (Musa NetWork) of cultural workers from various institutions active in conservation of cultural heritage (museums, cultural heritage) and initiate the exchange of good practices and pilot actions for managing the integrated system of cultural heritage and cultural activities in the countries of the Adriatic Basin.

In effect, also within the cultural field, the creation of a “Euroadriatic space of cultural exchange” presents an important potential for the development of collaborations and synergies between territories and contexts often representing important common cultural elements.

ACTIVITIES

  • Research and mapping of the cultural legislations implemented in the various territories involved. Research and mapping of work methods and organisational models used.
  • Organisation and creation of a series of transnational Working Groups with regards to the following themes: Legislative framework in the field of cultural protection and safeguarding; Valorisation of cultural heritage aimed at generating socio-economic development; Analysis and verification of the economic sustainability of systems and networks of museums.
  • Dissemination: Creation of a final publication in both paper and multimedia format. Launch of communication and information activities on the project, including the creation of a web portal with the network of the cultural operators involved.
