The Project has been conceived as a logical sequel of the Project Urgent Protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage in Metohija. Although preliminary researches have been done, its second stage, planned for the summer of 2003, could not be launched because of insufficient funds.
Since the implementation of the project is an absolute priority, MNEMOSYNE Center appeals to all possible donors to consider the idea of supporting it. The insight into condition of heritage is a necessary precondition for protection, both urgent or long-term. Without it it is impossible to prevent further deterioration, vandalization and even destruction.
The list of cultural properties to be inspected.* Note: The term KOSOVO was strictly used in its geographical sense, designating the eastern part of the Kosovo and Metohija basin, and not as a name for the part of the territory of the Republic of Serbia and Serbia & Montenegro under the rule of UN Interim Administration Mission.
