Center’s project partners include: Museum in Priština, Central Institute for Conservation in Belgrade, University in Priština – Kosovska Mitrovica, Culture Center “Sava Dečanac” – Leposavić and KUD “Kopaonik” – Leposavić.

Description of the project

Within the activities in the Project Kosovo and Metohija Interpretative Center proposed for 2011, the Center intends to continue and develop the initiated activities, using them to increase and network the cooperation with similar associations, institutions and individuals.

Goals of the project

Development of museum and educational programs in order to renew and develop the multicultural society and enable the community to express themselves through museum exhibitions and other public programs;
• initiation of public awareness and responsibility for Kosovo and Metohija and its universal and national heritage;
• communication with the widest layers of Serbian society and their sensitization for participating in improvement of condition of natural and cultural heritage at Kosovo and Metohija;
• development of new partnership relationships in culture, with institutions, organizations, associations, groups and individuals at national and local level;
• initiation of educational programs in the field of heritage for all the interested associates of culture institutions at Kosovo and Metohija, all independent scholars and collectors of heritage, for young, students and education workers who initiate and support collecting, preserving and presenting the cultural and natural heritage at Kosovo and Metohija, with the goal of their education and training in proper collecting, preserving, presenting and use of heritage.

• Set exhibition
• Initiated education programs on topic of heritage
• Collected and exhibited material
• Standardization of work with heritage at Kosovo and Metohija in difficult circumstances
• Long-term results of this project should create suitable conditions for institutional work at Kosovo and Metohija in the domain of heritage conservation.

Center Mnemosyne, Museum in Priština and Central Institute for Conservation in Belgrade (CIK) have organized projections of archeological and ethnological films in cooperation with the Student Center “Priština” in Kosovska Mitrovica.
